Cards - Keep It Simple

...Because You're Awesome - Workshop May 20, 2017

To make this card, I grabbed a little bit for three Stampin' Up! Stamp Sets:  Gorgeous Grunge, Petite Petals and Botanticals For You (from 2017 Sale-a-Bration).     This project is to show how well the Stampin' Up! sets go together.   They are designed to work with each other and enhance the background or message of a card you are designing.

My workshop class received Crumb Cake envelopes to go with the card.   But sadly, and I don't know why, Stampin' Up! did not continue the Crumb Cake envelopes in the new 2017-2018 Catalog.

For You, Flowers - Workshop May 20, 2017

The two Stampin' Up! Stamp Sets I used on this quick and easy card are both ones I have used on many card projects.   Why?   Because they are versatile and everyone loves flowers.   I like adding the little ladybug here and there.   So grab some shades of ink and make a bunch of these to share for all kinds of occasions.

OH SO HELLO - Workshop April 22, 2017

My last workshop card for April is this colorful mix of stamps from the Oh So Succulent stamp set.  This is also the third sample use of the Stitched Shapes Framelit Dies.   The stitching around the message adds interest to the card.   I really like the way the pink, orange and green shapes work together to make a bright and cheery greeting card.

BEACH TIDES - Workshop April 22, 2017

Here is the second set of cards made with the High Tide (#143006 $26 16 stamps) stamp set from the Occasions catalog.   I have my fingers crossed that it will be carried over to the new catalog.  This one is a keeper.    The Day at the Beach (#142258 $27 11 stamps or $19 clear) is a set I got with my rewards money and purchased on wood blocks.   My family has a week long vacation planned at the beach this summer and I plan to bring this set to share and have the kids made cards and post-cards.

LIGHTHOUSE OF HOPE - Workshop April 22, 2107

Encouraging people and sharing hope is so often what cards are for.   We send cards to let people know we are thinking of them, saying job well done or telling them again you love them.   I think that's why I like the Stampin' Up! stamp set High Tide (#143006 $26 16 stamps) so much.  I love the lighthouse, ocean waves and sandpiper birds.   But even more, I like the messages.    At the April workshop we used the stamp set twice; and here's one of them.

LIGHTHOUSE OF HOPE

  • Double-sided tape SNAIL
  • Directions - This is an easy, fast card to make.   I liked the contrast of blue and earthy red for this nautical look.   Stamp the lighthouse first, then add the water, stamp the birds in Soft Sky and lastly stamp the message in Cajun Craze.

Thank You SAB - Workshop March 25, 2017

On March 31 we said goodbye to Sale-A-Bration 2017.    I love the Avant Garden stamp set and the gold & silver ribbon and will continue to use them with the elegant Thank You stamp set.

Father's Day Card

Here's a Father's Day card I made up for my husband.   He is a wonderful, loving father to his son and caring and trusting father figure to many.   I'm so proud of him and how he treats all the kids around us.   My husband loves to travel and takes beautiful pictures where ever he goes.

A Lovely, Easy Wedding Card

All of the sudden, there are several wedding invitations and I had no wedding cards ready.   I needed to design a wedding card which I could make several which were not too much fuss.  Using the Stampin' Up! stamp sets:  Rose Wonder (#140697 $27 w/14 pieces), Work of Art (134114 $22) and the Rose Garden Thinlits Dies, I could make several lovely, easy wedding cards.  I made 2 colors using Watermelon Wonder and Blushing Bride stamp colors.   But other stamp colors you could use are:  Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Wisteria Wonder, or Sahara Sand.  You could even combine Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie to make a Peace Rose.  (My Dad's favorite rose.)
