OH SO HELLO - Workshop April 22, 2017

My last workshop card for April is this colorful mix of stamps from the Oh So Succulent stamp set.  This is also the third sample use of the Stitched Shapes Framelit Dies.   The stitching around the message adds interest to the card.   I really like the way the pink, orange and green shapes work together to make a bright and cheery greeting card.

Oh So Hello

  • Stamp Sets - Oh So Succulent (#142992 $21 30 stamps) and Tin of Cards
  • Card Stock - Whisper White 5 1/2"x8 1/2" score & fold 4 1/4".  Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP) 5 1/2"x 1" and 5 1/2"x 1/2".
  • Stitched Shapes Framelit Dies (#145372)
  • Calypso Coral Thick Baker's Twine  16"
  • Inks - Old Olive, Calypso Coral, Sweet Sugarplum
  • Adhesives - Double-sided SNAIL, Dimensionals
  • Directions - Fold the card stock in half.   With a pencil, lightly make a line on the left-side where the DSP strip of paper will go.   Stamp three sizes of succulent flowers on right-side of card front.    Tape the two DSP strips together and tie a bow with Calypso Coral Thick Baker's Twine around it.  Tape down the strip over the light pencil line.   Stamp hello message and cut it out with a Big Shot  using the oval Stitched Shapes Framelit Die.  Add message with one Dimensional.

OH SO THANKS - Workshop April 22, 2017

Here's the fancy card from my workshop.   It has more variety and took a little more time, but I love the succulent flower and how you can add dimension to it with a dab of color.

Oh So Thanks

  • Stamp Sets - Oh So Succulent (142992 $21 30 stamps) and Tin of Cards
  • Card Stock - Mint Macaron 5 1/2"x4 1/4".   Sweet Sugarplum 4"x 10 1/2" score & fold.  Whisper White 2 1/2"x2 1/2".   Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP) 5"x3 3/4".
  • Lace Dollies
  • Stitched Shapes Framelit Dies (#145372) and Succulent Framelits (#142757 $33)
  • Basic Pearls
  • Natural Thine Ribbon  6 1/2"
  • Sponge Daubers (#133773)
  • Inks - Sweet Sugarplum
  • Adhesives - Double-sided SNAIL, Dimensionals, Glue Dots
  • Directions - The folded Sweet Sugarplum paper goes on middle of Mint Macaron card base.  On back of DSP apply double-sided tape and from front of DSP place the ribbon and secure to back.   Tape the DSP down on the Sweet Sugarplum paper and attached to card base.   Using the Big Shot cut the succulent flower pieces and dauber each flower petal with a little Sweet Sugarplum color.   Build flower using glue dots.   Put 2 Dimensionals together on back of flower and place on top portion of card.   Sample message and using Big Shot, cutout stitched circle.  Tape to Lace Dollie and apply to card front under flower.   Add basic pearls.

BEACH TIDES - Workshop April 22, 2017

Here is the second set of cards made with the High Tide (#143006 $26 16 stamps) stamp set from the Occasions catalog.   I have my fingers crossed that it will be carried over to the new catalog.  This one is a keeper.    The Day at the Beach (#142258 $27 11 stamps or $19 clear) is a set I got with my rewards money and purchased on wood blocks.   My family has a week long vacation planned at the beach this summer and I plan to bring this set to share and have the kids made cards and post-cards.

  • Stamp Sets - Day at the Beach (#142258) and High Tide
  • Card Stock - Peekaboo Peach 4 1/2"x11" score & fold 5 1/2".   Whisper White 5 1/4"x4".   Marina Mist 5 1/4"x1 1/2".
  • Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies (#145372)
  • Inks - Marina Mist, Watermelon Wonder, Peekaboo Peach
  • Double-sided tape SNAIL and Dimensionals
  • Envelope Punch Board and Big Shot
  • Directions - This is our workshops second easy and fast card.   The Big Shot was used to cut out the message with the new Stitched Shapes Framelits.   These framelits embed a stitch around the message.  Stamp the water on the Marina Mist card stock and then tape down.   Stamp the beach images and punch rounded right side corners on Envelope Punch Board.  Add the message lifting it up a bit with Dimensionals.    Fold Peekaboo Peach in half and insert both corners to round right side on Envelope Punch Board.  Tape down card front.

LIGHTHOUSE OF HOPE - Workshop April 22, 2107

Encouraging people and sharing hope is so often what cards are for.   We send cards to let people know we are thinking of them, saying job well done or telling them again you love them.   I think that's why I like the Stampin' Up! stamp set High Tide (#143006 $26 16 stamps) so much.  I love the lighthouse, ocean waves and sandpiper birds.   But even more, I like the messages.    At the April workshop we used the stamp set twice; and here's one of them.

  • Stamp Set - High Tide
  • Card Stock - Marina Mist 5 1/2"x8 1/2" score & fold 4 1/4".   Cajun Craze 5 1/4"x4".   Very Vanilla 5"x3 3/4".
  • Inks - Marina Mist, Soft Sky, Cajun Craze
  • Double-sided tape SNAIL
  • Directions - This is an easy, fast card to make.   I liked the contrast of blue and earthy red for this nautical look.   Stamp the lighthouse first, then add the water, stamp the birds in Soft Sky and lastly stamp the message in Cajun Craze.

For All the . . . - Workshop March 25, 2017

When I saw the Succulent Garden products in the 2017 January-May Occasions Catalog, it was love at first sight.   The variety of things you can do with this set really impressed me.   And it was the reason I purchased two sets of the Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper (#142778 $11) and the Pear Pizzazz paper and ink.   I think you will love the colors in this set like I do as it is used again with my third workshop card.

Gorgeous - Workshop March 25, 2017

Here's another fun card from the Beautiful You stamp set.   This one combined the bright colors of Calypso Coral and Pear Pizzazz.   I purchased the Pear Pizzazz card stock and ink only 2 months ago and I don't know why I waited so long!   It is a softer green which blends well with oranges, pinks and yellows.    This card also works well for a Happy Birthday greeting.

  • Stamp Set - Beautiful You and Balloon Celebration
  • Card Stock - Calypso Coral 4 1/2"x11" score & fold at 5 1/2" and 2".   Pear Pizzazz 3 1/2"x4" and 3"x4".   Designer Series Paper Succulent Garden (142778 $11) 2 1/4"x4" and 3 1/4"x4".             Whisper White 3 1/4"x3 3/4".
  • Punch - Balloon Bouquet (140609 $18)
  • Ink - Basic Black
  • Glue, double-sided tape SNAIL and Dimensionals
  • Directions - fold the Calypso Coral to form a zig-zag.  Stamp balloon outlines on Calypso Coral and Pear Pizzazz scraps.  Punch out some balloons.  Punch out some balloons from Designer Series Paper (DSP); both sides will be used.   On Whisper White, stamp lady image and same image on the DSP  scrape.   And stamp balloon strings near hand of lady.   Cut out the dress on the DSP and apply glue and place on lady image.  Don't forget her hat!   Tape the inside and backside of card and stamp message on the inside Pear Pizzazz section.   Using Dimensional, place the balloons on the front of the card.

Thank You SAB - Workshop March 25, 2017

On March 31 we said goodbye to Sale-A-Bration 2017.    I love the Avant Garden stamp set and the gold & silver ribbon and will continue to use them with the elegant Thank You stamp set.

Thank You SAB
