March 2016

Workshop Summary - March 12, 2016, Part 2 of 2

I guess, better late than never, sorry for the delay releasing part 2 of my March workshop.   We were out and about town and then I had 20 people over for Easter dinner.   Although I'm late sharing my Easter items, they are good ideas for next year.

JELLY BEAN BUNNY

IMG_0772

Here's my sweet little bunny to share as a treat at Easter time.   My workshop members made 2 each and each bunny looked unique.   The method is lots of different punches and Sweet Treat Cups and candies like jelly beans.   Stampin' Up! doesn't sell the sweet treat cups anymore, but lots of other vendors do.   Permanent gel markers in black and white were used for the bunny face.

  • Circle Punches - 2 1/2", 1 3/4", 3/4", 1/4";  Other punches -  Tiny Heart, Small Oval
  • Punch 2 tiny hearts, one for the nose and one to turn sideways for the mouth.
  • Punch 2 small ovals in 1 color and 2 small ovals in a second contrasting color.   Cut the contrasting color by 3/4 and tape to bottom of bunny ear ovals.
  • Punch one 1 3/4" circle, then use the 2 1/2" punch around it.   This becomes the circle you insert the sweet treat cup into.   Punch another 2 1/2" and glue down cup with candy in it.   There's your belly.

Workshop Summary - March 12, 2016, Part 1 of 2

My March workshop focused on making friendship cards using stamp sets from the 2016 Sale-a-Bration.   We also made an Easter card and a jelly bunny which I feature in Part 2 of 2.   The Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration continues till March 31, 2016.  With every $50 purchase, you get a FREE item of your choice from the Sale-a-Bration mini-catalog.  On the right-side of my blog, there are quick clicks to the Stampin' Up! catalogs.   I love my FREE stuff and you will too using some of the ideas from my DJ Cards & More blog.

  • Accessories - Tea Lace Paper Dollies, Pearl Basics
  • Ink - StazOn black and assorted Stampin' Up! markers

Directions - Cut the cardstock to measurements listed above.   Stamp the Flowering Fields using the StazOn on the Whisper White yardstick.  (StazOn is a permanent ink and will not smear when you color in the flowers with markers.)  Use the curvy punch on only the top corners of the Whisper White and Blackberry Bliss.  Add the message from the Hello stamp set, cut triangles with small scissors and add pearls.   Trim Tea Lace Paper Dollie to fit under little green banner and touch the bottom of the card.  To assemble, tape down of Stampin' Up!'s double-sided SNAIL tape in this order:   Design Series Paper, flowers, green banner.

I had fun trying different styles of the same card concept and here's my samples.   Each card can be unique.   Make 4 at a time and color the flowers different on each one.

Easter Blessings

Donna J Payerly Banner 2-11-16 JPEG

Here's three Easter cards to share.   My cards use new and old stamping products.   I keep reusing the holiday stamps I have treasured in the past.   The message doesn't change, only the materials used.   The Stampin' Up! stamp set Suite Sayings (#140712 $21) in the 2016 Spring Occasions catalog, has an Easter expression which I will be using for many years.

This is a very versatile set and most practical.   I will be using it many times.

**A card shower is a request to send greeting cards to family and family who have a special need or a special event.   In my Stampin' Up! family, we share requests from each other for sympathy, celebration and encouragement.   Do you have a card shower request?   Please let me know and I will start one for you.
